HypnoBirthing®
Now in its twentieth year, HypnoBirthing® is a complete antenatal education. Classes are intended to help you have the most natural comfortable childbirth possible, using easily learned self hypnosis, breathing and relaxation techniques. Self hypnosis brings you into a state of relaxed concentration, just like when you are totally absorbed in something, like a good film or book. You are awake and aware of what is going on around you but you have become completely focused and have ‘tuned out’ the distractions.
Many highly successful athletes use similar techniques and refer to the state of mind that self hypnosis brings as being “in the zone” or “in flow”- i.e. relaxed and completely focused.
